computer boots up for 2 seconds then shuts down?

hi did ask this question earlier today, but the answers given did not work so trying again lol

basically my computer boots up after leaving off for about 4 hrs but only for about 2 seconds, i was adviced to get new ram as one i had pc2 5300 may be faulty as was getting bleep sounds. got new ram today 1gb of pc2 6400

but still had same problem after installed it, only after normal 4 or 5 boot ups it stayed on. could this now be the psu, been told that can cause that sorta thing. seen one on ebay heres the link ill put my specs at bottom of this ok:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110394917024&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

been adviced as well can be somthing else on mobo around the ram area but cant afford to pay for proper check up at shop and not really worth it with this computer, only need it to get me thru to next march then getting new one at last lol oh by the way the fans are all working

but did hear sqeaking noice about 5 mths ago after gave clean out but that soon went , not sure what fan it came from. ive reinstalled windows as well so thats been done

Chosen Answer:

It may be your PSU, Power supply unit. You should have a 550+ watt psu.
